JMS began as the collective of Dalit Women Agricultural Labourers in 1999 and has now grown into a large collective of daily wage worker women’s collective drawn from other communities working on wage labour.
Addressing Dalit women’s human rights and taking action on caste and gender based violence on Dalit women is at the core of JMS’ mission. With this vision JMS was initiated as a collective of Dalit women in 1999.
