JMS PRESIDENT Smt.CHINNAMMA receives prestigious DR.BABU JAGJIVAN RAM AWARD

The chief minister of Karnataka presented Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram's award on the eve of Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram's birth anniversary to JMS President Smt Chinnamma ,for her tireless work in the journey of building Dalit women's struggles, dignity leadership and overall empowerment of rural women. JMS conveys Heartfelt Congratulations to Smt.Chinnamma.

On 15th March 2025, JMS celebrated its silver jubilee. Over 1500 women marched from the main road of Pothnal village, recited the slogans about women's rights, health education, and employment . At the JMS premises, a public event was held to celebrate 25 years of the organization. Dr. Mallika Ghanti, former vice-chancellor of Kannada University, Hampi, along with other guests inaugurated the program by lighting lamp and presided over the event

JMS has initiated the formation of Valaya Samitis to empower local democracy through women's leadership. The Valaya Samiti's objectives include promoting transparency and accountability in local governance, upholding constitutional values, and strengthening local democracy. To achieve this, JMS provides capacity-building trainings, creates learning spaces, and offers exposure and mentorship to selected Valaya members

JMS identified and supported 49 promising girls from rural and marginalized communities to continue their higher education. These students were honoured during the Constitution Strengthening Campaign and the JMS Silver Jubilee Celebration. As part of the felicitation, each student received a quality backpack with the JMS logo, notebooks, pens, a certificate, and a pair of clothes. Where required, JMS also provided small financial assistance for stitching their clothes.

JMS commemorating the 76th Constitution Day, in collaboration with the Gram Panchayats of Pothnal, Goudanabhavi, Bagalawada, and Ramathnala organized the campaign “Samvidhanada Kadege Namma Nadige” across the taluks of Manvi, Maski, Sirwara, and Sindhanur. More than 500 women from 20 villages came together in powerful collective recitations of the Preamble, slogans, and songs celebrating constitutional values.

Our talented youth from Sakhi Trust took to the stage to perform a powerful drama on the significance of each word in the Preamble of the Indian Constitution and collectively recited the preamble.Through their performance, they beautifully showcased the values and principles that our Constitution upholds, inspiring us all to promote , uphold and strengthen our constitutional values. Kudos to our youth for their amazing performance.
