COMMUNITY ACTION TO ACCESS TAP WATER FACILITY

JMS 50 Sangha women and other village members held protest in Dumti village of Sindhanur Taluka for the denying tap water facility to SC colonies, women protested by keeping empty plastic pots & buckets in front , the PDO of the respective GP responded proactively and called JCB to the location, and gave instructions for making pipeline facility .

JMS in solidarity with other Sanghatans and NGOs took part in the state level consultation called by RDPR minister for the collective and effective implementation of MGNREGA, and to improve livelihood of daily wage laborers by addressing the local corruption, technical challenges. Also agreed to increase person days of work considering the drought prone situation .

JMS women leaders and sangha women from 5 villages gathered together at its administrative office and celebrated the International democracy day on September 15th 2023, women together recited the preamble of Indian Constitution and discussed its contemporary needs for uplifting the pluralism , human rights with dignity and self respect in rural areas .

DALIT WOMEN'S CONVENTION 2024

JMS women celebrated the Dalit Women's Convention on the eve of International Women's Day at its administrative office in Pothnal. The event aimed to uplift constitutional values, with 120 women participating from Manvi and Sindhanur taluks. Gram Panchayat Elected presidents, members, and select Sangha women were honored during the celebration.

JMS karyakarta organized public meetings in the villages within JMS constituencies, engaging with Sangha women to establish Valayasamiti (local committees) for each Gram Panchayat. This initiative aims to bolster local democracy, promote social justice, and cultivate robust leadership among Dalit women in rural areas and to amplify the voices of marginalized women.

JMS organised public dialogue in Manvi taluk panchayat, in the presence of Executive Officer and 70 sangha women from 12 villages . women discussed their grievances and collectively formulated a memorandum outlining their demands for urgent action from local authorities. This memorandum encapsulated the pressing needs of the communities.
